Northwest Seed & Pet is a long-standing, locally owned garden, nursery, and pet supply retailer serving the Spokane community. We are seeking friendly, knowledgeable, and customer-focused Seasonal Retail Nursery Associates to join our team during our busy season. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with plants, enjoys being outdoors, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide excellent customer service by helping shoppers with plant selection, gardening questions, and product recommendations

- Maintain the nursery area, including watering, pruning, restocking, and monitoring plant health

- Unload, sort, and display plant shipments and related merchandise

- Assist with register transactions as needed

- Help customers load plants, soil, and other garden supplies into vehicles (some lifting required)

- Support inventory tasks, signage, pricing, and merchandising

- Identify and report issues such as pests, disease, or damaged stock

- Maintain a clean and safe work environment indoors and outdoors

- Assist other departments when needed, especially during peak spring/summer periods

Qualifications:

- Interest in gardening, horticulture, or nursery retail; experience is a plus, but not required

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

- Good communication and customer service skills

- Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting 30 and 50 lbs.

- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

- Availability during peak season, including weekends and holidays

We are looking for dependable and hardworking Seasonal Retail Utility / Carry-Out Associates to support daily store operations. This role is fast-paced, hands-on, and essential to keeping our store running smoothly—perfect for someone who enjoys physical work and helping customers.

Key Responsibilities:

-Assist customers by carrying purchases (soil, pet food, plants, garden supplies, etc.) to their vehicles

-Provide general customer service and direct customers to appropriate departments when needed

-Help unload trucks, receive shipments, and stock shelves or outdoor product areas

-Maintain store cleanliness, including sweeping, organizing, removing trash or debris, and restroom maintenance.

-Set up and refill product displays, restock heavy items, and assist with merchandise rotation

-Support other departments (pet, garden, nursery) as needed during busy periods

-Monitor stock levels and notify staff when products need restocking

-Follow all safety procedures when lifting, moving, or operating equipment

Qualifications:

-Ability to lift and carry heavy items (typically 40–75+ lbs.) repeatedly throughout shift

-Reliable, hardworking, and customer-oriented

-Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

-Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude

-Must be able to work weekends and work until 7 p.m. as scheduled

-Must have reliable transportation

-Able to stay active and on your feet for most of the workday

-Availability during busy spring and summer seasons
