Things to do in January
- Time to start geraniums, petunias and impatiens indoors from seed.
- Dormant spraying can be done when temperature is above 40°F. It should be done before new growth shows.
- Begin bringing in bulbs that were potted last fall such as tulips, hyacinths and narcissi. Start them in a 60°-65°F temperature. Make sure roots are well developed.
- Pruning deciduous shrubs, fruit trees, flowering shrubs, and grapes is timely. Leave roses until later in spring.
